Under the sponsorship of ISSD Africa Programme as coordinated by Centre for Development Innovation (CDI) of Wageningen University and Research (Wageningen UR), Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationaler Zusammenarbeit (GiZ), Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and African Union Commission, and co-implemented by AfricaSeeds and ISSD Africa, the international expert consultation: “Measuring Seed Sector Performance in Africa; Seeking synergies, matching supply and demand for information” took place in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire from 25 to 26 October 2016.

This paper aims to share the opportunities and challenges to LSB development in Ethiopia and realizing the demands of farmers within a specific market niche where socio-economic and institutional factors responsible for opportunities and challenges are discussed.
